The mission of the Eudora Public Library, a tax-supported community resource, is to provide informational, educational, and recreational services, materials, and programs to patrons of all ages.

Services and materials available to patrons, include:

  • Reference.  Using a core collection of reference materials (including Chilton’s Manuals), System Reference, the Kansas Library Catalog, organization referrals, and the Internet, librarians offer reference assistance through telephone, mail, or in person.
  • Local publications (such as high school yearbooks, etc.). View some Eudora maps here!
  • General reading. The library has more than 10,000 fiction and non-fiction books in regular and large print. It also has two newspapers (The Kansas City Star and Lawrence Journal World) and magazines covering a broad range of interests. Currently, the library subscribes to U.S. News and World Report, Time, Newsweek, Discover, Popular Science, Science News, Smart Computing, Money, Kiplinger’s, Smithsonian, Better Homes, Redbook, Ladies Home Journal, All You, Midwest Living, Family Circle, Country Living, Woman’s Day, People, Prevention, Reader’s Digest, Country, Hot Rod, National Geographic, Consumer Reports, Parents, Bottom Line Personal, Crafts ’n Things, Family Fun, Paper Crafts, Air & Space, and Seventeen. It also has donated collections such as Oprah, More, Real Simple, and others.
  • Videos and DVDs. The collection includes family and children’s movies, as well as informational broadcasts.
  • Audiobooks. Books on CD include romance, comedy and mystery.
  • System membership. As a member of the Northeast Kansas Library System, the Eudora Public Library actively participates in the programs and services offered by NEKLS, including the NExpress Shared Regional Catalog.
  • Outreach. Library materials can be delivered to patrons who are homebound or temporarily unable to come to the library.
  • Inter-library loans. If another library within the state has a desired publication, it can be obtained at the Eudora Public Library through inter-library loan services. For example, if you want something from the Lawrence Public Library, Johnson County Public Library, Kansas City Kansas Public Library, or Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library, tell the library staff at the check-out desk. When the item is sent to the Eudora Public Library, you will be notified.
  • Photocopying services. The library offers a photocopier for patron use. Single-sided, 8.5′ x 11″ copies are 10 cents each; double-sided, 15 cents. Legal size copes are 15 cents each.  Color photo copies are 25 cents each.
  • FAX services. Please call and get librarian approval to receive FAX copies that will cost $1 each page. Sending FAX messages is $2 for the first page, $1 each additional page.
  • Internet access and PC software workstations. Presently, the library has computers with Microsoft software available for patron use. Patrons can print up to 10 pages at no charge per day. Additional pages are 10 cents a page. Color copies are available at 25 cents a page. The library also provides free public wireless Internet access, where you may connect to the Internet with your wireless laptop, PDA or other portable device.
  • Bulletin board. Information of a non-commercial nature may be made available to the public through the library bulletin board and handout areas. Only one copy of any item may be posted on the bulletin board. Items not pertaining to a certain date will be removed after one month from the bulletin board or two months if handouts.
  • Voter registration. The public may register to vote and fill out address changes at the Circulation Desk. No advance voting is available.
  • Income tax forms. A variety of tax forms are available to the public in the months preceding tax deadlines. Also, see Internal Revenue Service for Forms and Publications as well as Kansas Tax Links and its Forms and Publications.
